At the Eighth Annual Convention of The Media Ecology Association you will also have the opportunity to participate in special guided bilingual tours to Teotihuacán, site of the some of largest pyramids in Mexico and one of the most extraordinary archeological sites in the Western Hemisphere, and to downtown Mexico City, including the major cultural and historic sites in the Centro Histórico (The Zócalo or Constitution Square, Metropolitan Cathedral, the ruins of the Great Temple of the Aztecs, the National Palace with its murals by Diego Rivera), the monuments of Reforma Avenue, and the museums of Chapultepec Park (the National Museum of Anthropology, Museum of Modern Art, Rufino Tamayo Museum of Contemporary Art, and the National History Museum, located in the famed Castle of Chapultepec).

Mexico City is located in central region in a valley with a magnificent backdrop of two volcanoes: Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl. The nation's capital has a pleasant climate with an average year-round temperature of 22° C (72° F).
"...Known as the City of Palaces, the Federal District has two areas that were declared World Heritage sites by the UNESCO. The first one is the Historic Center, where you can admire beautiful religious and historic buildings like the Catedral Metropolitano and Palacio de Bellas Artes. In this city you'll see diverse colonial and modern architecture. The other site is Xochimilco Ecological Park, often referred to as the Venice of Mexico due to its beautiful canals. You can tour the canals on a trajinera (a wooden boat adorned with painted flowers). North of Mexico City, you can visit the Basilica de Guadalupe, one of the most visited basilicas in the world and a must-see for those who want to learn more about Mexico's customs and traditions..."
